I think that technology will advance so far in my lifetime or at least within the coming generations that the world as we know it today will be completely turned upside down. I could imagine that there will be discoveries far beyond our imagination or things we know from films like time machines or beaming. This sounds quite unreal but I am convinced that computer technology or cloning must have been in almost the same manner unreal for past generations...
Advances in technology will of course have their benefits for society, especially when it comes to topics like healh (imagine the fabrication of a miraculous medicament that can heal all kinds of diseases). But it also has dark sides: Due to automated processes (e.g. IT) there will be a replacement of workers and operational procedures will completely change...
